Who could pass over a picture of a cute baby? Most of us want to see the cuteness. And if you don’t, what’s wrong with you? I just wanted to catch your attention with my adorable grandson.
2020 (Pandemic) Passover and Easter will be different for most. The meaning never changes unless it’s truth is growing deeper into your life and mine. Passover lasts from sundown on April 8, 2020 to sundown on April 16, 2020. Easter is April 12.
Resurrection resides right in the middle of Passover.
During one Passover, while remembering the Exodus of the Israelites to freedom from slavery, where the blood of a spotless lamb was painted on door frames so death would pass over Israelite families, saving them to live another day... God’s people chose to sacrifice the One True Spotless Lamb. That’s how they celebrated the rescue God gave them. Humans rejected Him. They passed over Jesus.
We still do this today. Reject Him. Pass Him over. For what? Name the things you (we) chase more than Jesus.
Being passed over by death is only possible by believing Jesus is THE SAVIOR and stepping in the flood of His perfect love bleeding over our filth and sickness and hunger, our deprivation. Being passed over from all death is God’s gift of grace.
This 2020 Passover, what will you do with Jesus, the perfect, spotless Lamb whose blood washes your faults away and renders you flawless instead? Will you reject Him & crucify His authority in your life, choosing any other thing besides Him to have first place in your heart? Will you receive Him and remember Him, choosing the King of Kings to reign on the throne of your heart?
This is not a one time choice. This is an over and over again choice. Salvation happens once; the moment you accept Jesus, believe Him, and choose Him as Savior for you. After and because of that salvation, living your new life-gift is a daily choice.
Surviving being passed over by the world, staying “okay” when things are not okay, simply truly living on a dying planet so His Light can enlighten... that’s sanctification. That’s becoming more connected and more coherent, more conjoined with Christ.
Receive Him into your life, yes! Then receive Him into your every moment, remember Him as you live and breathe oxygen He alone gives you. Choose Him constantly. You’ll start to realize you’re truly free from slavery to any other person or thing or struggle.
The Passover Lamb has not and will not ever pass you over for life. He pours out His love, the only Love, over you. He poured out His life so the only thing passing you over is the crush of death. He crushed death in finality! He invites you to join Him in the Land of Promise because Exodus from your past has already been established.
What will you pass over to live more fully the celebration of Passover not just for a week, but for your life? You’ve not been passed over by Jesus. Only Jesus. He sees and knows and loves you fully.
My prayer: Daddy God, please let this pandemic lifestyle catch our attention so we allow You to resurrect us right in the middle of it! Don’t let this opportunity pass over us! For your Glory & In Jesus’ Name! Amen.
Hey, thanks for reading. Hope it made sense.
