How sweet it is to be loved by You! I love Jesus! I love sweet Holy Spirit! I love my Daddy God! I also love sweet confections like the ones in the post image, but consuming them on a daily basis is not as beneficial as daily dining with the Divine.

Lately I’ve been reading this rich little devotional first thing each morning; “A Diary of Private Prayer” by John Baillie. It’s full of Thee and Thou and Thine, so it requires extra concentration on my part to keep up. There is a revised version using modern language, but I prefer this one because it is beautiful and engaging in it’s unfamiliar lingo. I really want to share the beauty of this little gem with friends, every day. Today, this part woke me. Don’t you love it when that happens?!

“Within this poor body Thou hast set a spirit that is akin to Thine own Spirit. Within this corruptible Thou hast planted incorruption and within this mortal immortality. So from this little room and this short hour I can lift up my mind beyond all time and space to Thee, the uncreated One, until the light of Thy countenance illumines all my life.”

We are the created beings loved by our Creator. We are His Masterpiece even while we are in this state of being weak and human. Are you not slain by this fact?! I am ruined.

Nothing touches that. Not even a platter of sprinkled delights. I love sweets, friends! It’s a joy and a weakness. Why am I sharing this tidbit in a post about the words John Baillie used to describe the Greatness of our God and the weakness of our kind? Because we need to remember He’s yummy and we need Him. We could use a fresh revelation of how Sweet He is, How delicious His love for us.

God made us because He wanted us. God gave His Son, Jesus, to be perfect for us because we never will be on our own. Jesus bled His life out, died, then came to life again because He wanted us to be with Him forever and there was just no other way that could happen apart from His spotless sacrifice. Jesus placed His Spirit in us so we could connect with Him infinitely, regardless of location or situation.

God gives God, always. Our job is to receive God, contain Him, and broadcast Him to the world. I just wanted to celebrate Him today, with you. Sprinkles for the soul. Isn’t that happiness?!

Final thought I want to share from the author of this sweet devotional, “Let me keep in mind that my mortal body is but the servant of my immortal soul.” What in the blessed world would our world look like if we Jesus-followers lived this way on the fifteenth and everyday?
